What is an Approved Training Organisation?

CITB award Approved Training Organisation (ATO) status to training organisations that provide construction training courses and qualifications to defined and industry-agreed standards. A CITB ATO could be a commercial training provider, a construction employer’s in-house training department, or an educational establishment.

To complete this application, you will need;

  • To have the relevant permission from the appropriate authority within your organisation to sign the Forms of Agreement with CITB
  • Your Trading Name and Trading Address
  • Your companies house registration number (if applicable)
  • Your CITB Levy Registration Number (if applicable)
  • The names of the standards your training courses relate too, for more information on training standards please click here
  • Names of construction related awarding bodies you may be a member of.

The application process will take approximately half hour to complete, the process will timeout if not completed within 4 hours. We will aim to review your application within 10 working days.

Recognised Organisation

What is a Recognised Organisation?

CITB issue Recognised Organisation status to awarding bodies that are recognised by CITB and the UK construction Industry as providing standardised courses and qualifications. Recognised Organisation courses will then be recognised as standardised training and offered by Approved Training Organisations to the UK construction industry.

To complete this application, you will need;

  • To have the relevant permission from the appropriate authority within your organisation to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CITB
  • Your Trading Name and Trading Address
  • Your companies house registration number (if applicable)
  • Your quality assurance process
  • Have reviewed the available standards to match your training course too, for more information on training standards please click here

The application process will take approximately half hour to complete, the process will timeout if not completed within 4 hours. We will aim to review your application within 10 working days.
